Foundation for the Blount County Public Library

Meeting today's needs. Building tomorrow's legacy.

Somewhere in this building, a boy is reading his first chapter book. A young woman is applying for her first job. Two friends are catching up over coffee. The Blount County Public Library holds so much more than books, and the Foundation for the Blount County Public Library is here to help, every step of the way.

Capital Projects

Sustaining our library through capital projects

In 1997, the Foundation for the Blount County Public Library was formed to build a new library that could meet the needs of a growing community. Now, we preserve that investment by funding capital projects that keep the library safe, efficient, and ready to serve patrons.

  • Efficiency Upgrades

We fund technologies that improve the library's energy efficiency and personnel costs, ensuring excellent stewardship of public funds.

  • Safety Measures

We help the library purchase, install, and implement equipment and building upgrades that keep patrons and staff safe.

  • Growth Planning

We raise funds for planned projects that enable the library to expand services as our community's needs change.

In their words

Every life we touch holds a story. We are grateful for those who shared their experiences.

My son picked out his first chapter book here on a rainy Tuesday, and he hasn't stopped reading since. Storytime gave our whole family a place to belong.

I updated my resume on a library computer and took a free workshop on interviewing. Three weeks later I had an offer. I couldn't have done it without this place.

I've shelved books here for eighteen years. Watching the Foundation fund the upgrades that keep our doors open has been one of the great joys of my retirement.
